New Cold Wax Paintings

I've been continuing my obsession with cold wax and oil paintings. I've completed these four for the upcoming
"Artists Among Us" show at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, May 17-19. Cold wax and oil are messy but oh so satisfying to work with!

New Garden Life

We haven't had a garden for several years--no time. Yesterday, thanks to the energy and determination of my partner, we started a small kitchen garden. This makes me so happy!

Papers Wabi-Sabi': Decorated Papers at Art and Soul

What are these artists doing? In a very large class full of creative chaos, they are turning plain mulberry paper into strong, flexible, and gorgeous art paper. The class was buzzing with creativity and fun! We used re-inkers, acrylic glaze, alcohol ink, acrylics and much more in a wild burst of experimentation. A wonderful evening with wonderful students!

"Who's Your Mummy?" at Art and Soul: Encaustic Portraits

This was a class in painting encaustic images inspired by the Fayum mummy portraits and other portraits. Some powerful pieces emerged from this class!

Most of the students were new to encaustic and to painting portraits. Pretty amazing! They cut loose and encouraged each other throughout the day.
These students have a lot to be proud of!
