It's time for a special giveaway!

Post a comment telling us what you are creating right now. This enters you into the random drawing for one of my new DVDs from North Light! You must include an email address in your post so that I know how to notify you if you are the winner. (I promise I won't use your address for anything else unless you post that you want to be added to my newsletter list.)

I'll pick the winner at random on February 11.
The winner will be able to choose which DVD I'll send.

Good Luck!

Congrats on the DVDs Serena!!! You know how much I love your book and have been so inspired by it. I actually have two small canvases just begun in the wabi-sabi style but at the moment I'm working on Valentine projects and drawing. I'd LOVE to win a DVD-thanks for the chance :)

Currently dividing my time between a series of collages based on various fairy tales and a spirit doll who is slowly rising from your book on Wabi-Sabi. Thanks so much for continuing to inspire my best work and fuel my desire to learn more!

I'm participating in an envelope/mail art round robin. I'm also in a planning stage of a fabric collaged table runner. Thanks for this cool giveaway. I'm always looking for new techniques to add to my mixed media projects.

Took a class from you, at Art Is You Petaluma, two years ago and loved it. Congrats on the DVD's. They look so interesting. Anyone that inspires art teaches us the wonderful environment of creativity.
I just created a Carrie Clayden "tutu" painting in one of her classes (talk about "wabi sabi"), some collage envelopes (I make them from scratch.) and my first love... photos from my camera.
I'm in for this new DVD.

Hi Serena! I took an Art & Soul class from you last Fall in Portland - "Layers of Memory". Since then I have been working on a number of collages on canvas board using paper, ink, acrylics, and found objects. I came to your blog hoping to find tips on making glazes with re-inkers like we did in class. So I thought I would leave a note and hopefully have a chance to win a DVD! Thanks for the opportunity!

Oh, I would love this!

I just discovered your blog. I am really interested in your Taos workshop. I have just discovered cold wax and oil, and have been teaching myself. From reading your blog, I just found out about reinkers. Where can I buy them?

I am currently making small clay faces and finishing them using acrylics, powdered pigments, walnut inks and gilder's paste. I then include them in textured collages using (among other things): Mexican bark paper, string, preserved leaves, found objects, acrylics, gold leaf, acrylic mediums, pan pastels, and inks.

As a printmaker, my work is divided into the correct prints for the edition and the wabi sabi pieces which become art journals (or stand alone mixed media). I have joined a bookmaking group to cojoin my mis-stepped intents into art.

Hi Serena, I am so pleased I discovered you! I am an artist in South Africa and after recently undergoing heart surgery I have felt an inclination to break free from my terribly rigid, and far too realistic way of painting of the past and tune into my creative spirit to experiment and play more! So this afternoon I was searching for info on how to create mixed media pieces using encaustic techniques, which I'd like to try and you popped up! Your Wabi-Sabi philosophy and Art workshops look fantastic - I wish I lived in America to be able to attend one, but I am skipping right back to Google to see if you are on You Tube! Warmest regards, Karen (Email: longdensarron@yahoo.com)

Hi! I work with paper. All kinds! Repurposed, altered, and discarded by others to make images that are one of a kind. But I like to challenge myself with new materials, mediums and techniques. My desire is to begin exploring encaustics and it would be lovely to have your Hot Wax,Cold Wax and Plaster DVD to get me started.
My email is majaneol@gmail.com
Hoping the stars line up for me!
