Addendum: Art and Soul Giveaway!

Well, folks, I was so excited to share Jen Crossley's interview that I forgot to mention another exciting feature of the art and soul blog hop! A Giveaway!

Make sure you leave a comment to be in the drawing for a wonderful prize: an inspiration-packed collection of delicious embellishments from Judy at Artistic Artifacts.

Here's a question to answer in your comment:

What do you want most from an art class or workshop?

On Jan 31, I will pull a random generator number, and that lucky person wins the jammed-packed-full-of-goodness ephemera pack!

Well, I hate to be first. Seems like I might not have the good luck of the draw... but here goes.
The thing I want most from an art class or workshop is to learn from an artist. To acquire the skills needed to create my own artistic version of the artists vision. I don't want to copy the artist. I want to learn the skill and then reinvent my own artwork.

Hi Serena,
I'm not sure about being "first". It might be bad luck for the drawing... but here goes.
What I want most from an art class or workshop is to learn skills from the artist that will help me create artwork that is not a copy of the artist but a re-creation of the artists vision.
Learning to be an artist is, to me is being exposed to color, content and ideas that help me become a better artist in my own artful endeavor.

Thanks for the comment! What you want is what I try to teach so I'm happy to hear it!

Hmmm, what do I want most...that's tough to narrow down but connection is what comes to mind. I love the connections I make all week at Art & Soul! It's connecting with the people, whether meeting new friends or re-connecting with ones from past classes. Connecting with all the new classes offered and of course when learning so many new techniques and skills! Taking those skills home with the confidence of knowing I can do anything.

I'd love to learn some new techniques and try them out. But most of all, I'd like to meet some new artists and find a tribe of folks to blog and create art together between art retreats. (✿◠‿◠)❀♫❤ ☼~Hobby

I love getting together with others who are open to joy and experimentation and working alongside them. I like to learn uses for new products or even other uses for existing items I have. I especially like the time creating something beautiful with other friendly people.

I absolutely love learning a technique, using materials either familiar to me or not, that give me yet another way to express myself. It's like learning about painting a sheet of music, and then cutting/tearing a shape from it for a collage. duh - I never thought about that on my own. but it's so simple!

Inspiration is everywhere at Art and Soul and I can't wait for March to get here so we can all get together in Virginia Beach!!! Love new techniques, meeting new artists, sharing ideas, tips and tricks for projects, a little wine in the evening, just putting aside one whole day to create is the best time ever!!!
